AWARDS (October 2008) ATLANTA, GA – The Association for Dressings & Sauces (ADS) named its seventh annual Sauce of the Year Award winner at its Annual Meeting held October 5 - 7 at the Naples Grande Resort & Club in Naples, Florida. “Consumers are seeking new, exotic dressing flavors, such as Asian, Mediterranean or Tuscan. To help consumers satisfy their need for something new and different, Marie’s launched Marie’s Sesame Ginger. There has been tremendous growth in Asian-inspired cuisine and it was evident in our research that there was a real demand for a great tasting Sesame Ginger that was versatile enough to use as both a dressing and a dipping sauce,” said Jim Stangl, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, who accepted the award during Monday’s General Session. The Sauce of the Year Award is presented by ADS to recognize and celebrate truly innovative and delicious sauce products. Nominations for the award were received from ADS members and were then voted on by members via a blind taste test at ADS’ May Technical Meeting in Memphis, Tennessee. ADS members voted for the sauce product deemed to have the best overall taste. The Association for Dressings & Sauces is an international trade association of salad dressing, mayonnaise, mustard and other condiment sauce manufacturers and their suppliers.
